enterprisemobility image1There are 1.6 billion smartphones in the market and growing.  The number of connected devices is set to see further acceleration through pads, sensors, glasses, and watches.

With the increase of these devices at the edge of an enterprise, the first contact with the enterprise for most clients will be the mobile channel.  It makes mobile a strategic imperative and initiative for the enterprise. It becomes an important part of the enterprise IT stack and more the reason for embracing it at the earliest.

Consumerization leads to flexibility, untethered workers

Enterprises need to understand Mobility is the future.  The sooner they understand and move towards mobile the sooner they will see a competitive advantage.  If this is coupled with a better user experience it can lead to more efficient, smart workers.

Some businesses are taking it too literal and making the move to mobile first strategy with a rewrite of applications to a device.   This device centric focus costs huge time and money with very little to show on user experience.  What is necessary is a transformation of the application to next generation experience that embraces mobile, cloud and social.  Further if Applications take into account location, context, push to text, cross platform usage, leverage power of mobile they can result in making the app more predictive and anticipatory, thus making the user smarter and efficient.  This is the approach that MoNimbus prescribes.

It is through a cloud based middleware that can extract existing apps and transform them in real time.  The emphasis of this enterprise mobility approach is to keep the enterprise focused on its mission.  Digitization of the enterprise i.e. creation of web assets is what the company does best and should continue to do so. MoNimbus servers do the rest. That is active and real time transformation of application assets to optimized and intelligent experience on any device, anywhere in real time and on a SaaS model.

In the late 90’s the Internet boom gave way to scaled Physical data centers housing thousands of servers. In the past years they have given way to virtualization leading to increased CPU utilization and efficiency, rationalization of costs of storage, rack space and labor costs. The reduction of physical infrastructure has resulted in a larger benefit of mobility of the enterprise.

Virtualization has paved the way to cloud deployment. Moving to cloud is a business decision based on a modular, efficient, scalable platform delivering an on-demand self service user experience. The Promise is of lower costs and move to a newer business model.

Enterprises moving to cloud in addition to business benefits will have the added advantage of increased mobility and scale at any time. This scale factor coupled with the BYOD phenomenon implies growth of mobile end points – fones, tablets etc, and extension of services to all of them. Enterprise IT has to deal with the compressed time to provision and deploy new applications services across all of these end points. The challenge is to accelerate adoption of the mobile web of applications and services within the enterprises i.e of scale. Another important challenge is to introduce a level of experience that comes with the mobile enterprise.

MoNimbus™ is geared to meet the challenges of Scale and Experience with its cloud based mobile enterprise application platform and applications.

Most organizations do the mistake of treating collaboration as a bunch of tools, much like a telephone connection. Collaboration is a way of doing things. It is how you execute a particular process more effectively. What is the logic of executing a process effectively by asking an employee to get out of the application that one is using and then use some collaboration tool and then get back to the application?. Collaboration will only meaningfully work, if it happens inside the application. That is the only meaningful way to promote collaboration as an idea deep into the enterprise. This is precisely the direction that MoNimbus™ takes with collaboration. Here, we discuss two ways of presenting collaboration. Hosted Collaboration and Embedded Collaboration.
Hosted Collaboration services
Most of the large enterprise communication firms are into creating cloud based collaboration services that are independent of enterprise applications and solutions. They are stand-alone services like global Video as a service or audio as a service using a standard backhaul. Operators in conjunction with enterprise communication firms have been in the business of offering Hosted collaboration services to enterprises.
Embedded Collaboration Services
Then there’s a technology differentiator where we’ve been built from the ground up to being multi-tenanted in the operator network to provide for embedded collaboration services. Collaboration services like, Presence, Chat, audio and video embedded within the workflow of applications and business processes that are part of the MoNimbus suite. For e.g. mCRM from MoNimbus will offer business use cases that embed push to call, chat, push messaging etc. These are all the things that mobile operators understand and care about.
Enterprises are in the first stage of dealing with mobile in the sense of coming up with the right policies or approaches to BYOD. Embedded collaboration allows them to really take better advantage of mobility. Remember , for any enterprise engaging your client is about being mobile and about being a mobile enterprise. That is what MoNimbus™ enables.
